Fly-tipping: calling for stronger consequences for offenders

Our country lanes are not dumping grounds. I have pressed for more effective deterrents and supported local volunteers tackling litter.

Fly-tipping continues to cause real misery along our rural roads and lanes. Residents should not have to see beautiful countryside treated as a dumping ground.

I co-founded the South Bucks Wombles because I wanted to help people take practical action, and I remain enormously grateful to the volunteers who regularly give up their time.

I have also contributed to the Government's consultation on conditional cautions for fly-tipping offenders, supporting stronger deterrents and meaningful consequences where appropriate.

A huge thank you to the volunteers, enforcement teams and residents who keep reporting incidents and caring for the places we love.
